0600 we actually had to get up, but we still had to sleep for half an hour. After some coffee we quickly packed the rest and left the apartment around 0815. With our own car we wanted to go to Rastatt and change there into the bus to the airport Karlsruhe-Baden.

Despite air conditioning it had been quite warm at night. We started the day around 0800 with a breakfast in the courtyard of the Maison, consisting of jam, baguette, cheese, salami and coffee. Afterwards we went out to look around in the Medina. Around 1000 it was still quite pleasant and hardly people on the way.

Due to the air conditioning running at night it was pleasant in the room. Today it should be 45 degrees in Marrakech again. The breakfast this time had additionally a boiled egg and the apparently owner of the Maison. The owner sat at his own table, had breakfast and stared around the area.

Due to the climate it had been extremely pleasant at night. In contrast to the sea it had been much warmer in Tafraout. But this was no comparison to the 43 degrees in Marrakech. Somehow we had to do the whole time with temperature changes. In Marrakesh and Taroudant still over 40 degrees and at the sea evening felt 10 degrees. That was maybe even 15 degrees. At some point the current began to cause problems as announced. We had already forgotten that. In quite short distances it was there and left again. This led to my battery charger for the e-cigarettes giving up the ghost. Here we stood before a quite addiction problem, since nobody had thought of it. I also had an AC/DC converter with me, but somehow the cigarette lighter didn’t work.

The night at Hotel Nadia was quite strange. Maybe that was due to the shabby equipment of the room. Somehow there were bedbugs. We drove into the center on the main road, which was called Mohammed V or something like that, as always, directly at the Hotel Royal. Next to the hotel there was a coffee where we had breakfast. We sat down, ordered and somehow waited forever. Such an Omlette and, coffee is now no witchcraft and guests were also hardly there. Finally I had to go in later to pay to speed up the whole thing. Directly opposite there is a Liquor Store. It is somehow not properly hidden, but also not directly recognizable. If someone is looking for it, it is quite directly opposite the Hotel Royal. So about.

This time we got up even earlier than usual. Overnight it was really cool in the room. Unfortunately there was no hot water and the toilet had to be flushed with a bucket. Overnight I had to suffer again attacks of bedbugs, which bit me this time clearly. That clouded this actually great hotel a little bit. The day before I had to drive the car next door into a lockable parking lot, although I insisted to leave it at the road. When we were finished there was of course nobody to be seen. We went to the locked gate and I tried to get it open somehow when a hotel hiwi arrived and opened the gate. I was waiting for him to want a dollar, but he did not. So I gave him 20 Dh for the tea from the day before and we left again towards Zagora, because we still had a good distance to Merzouga.

When I finished with the morning toilet the food was already served in the large lounge, which was comfortably equipped with armchairs and sofas. There was jam and for me of course Omlette Frommage. As far as I can remember this was a variant where the triangular cheese was delivered extra. Of course there was also coffee, which meant a very relaxed morning. In the room it was also quite cool and I admired again the effectiveness of the classical clay architecture. After dinner we decided to climb the dune again. So we got ready, which meant that I put a T-shirt in front of my mouth and a hooded jacket over my head. M. took a hat and swimming goggles.

Travelogue of a tour through Morocco in January 2011. Due to a spontaneous idea the flight and a hostel for Marrakech were booked cheap in November. On the spot we should finally see where we are going. The destination should be cheap, warm and culturally diverse. Unfortunately, the tour had to take place alone, which has certain advantages and disadvantages. On the one hand, one does not have to pay attention to the sensitivities of someone, on the other hand, one cannot share great experiences and impressions.
