I’ve been to the area many times but somehow I had overlooked Bunaburra National Park. This time I went on a short hike in this park and the next day I tried to climb Mount Barney.

Exploring Tamborine Mountain – Australia’s Rainforest Escape

That day I had a little trip around the Gold Coast area. It was my first time in the Tamborine Mountain area and my second time in Springbrook National Park.
Tamborine Mountain, part of the Scenic Rim region in southeast Queensland, is one of Australia’s most beloved nature escapes. Rising to about 525 meters above sea level, the mountain is actually the remnant of an ancient shield volcano that erupted around 22 million years ago. Today, it is a lush plateau surrounded by subtropical rainforest, charming villages, waterfalls, and sweeping lookouts that draw both locals and tourists in search of cool mountain air and natural beauty.
