Professionally it should go to a conference in Dubai. I had wisely booked a rental car that didn’t cost much and had a little more flexibility. Actually, I was only there for five days, but still had two days to drive around. The first trip went from Dubai to the east and the second from Dubai to the south at the border of Oman, further on the border of Saudi Arabia through the Rub el Khali (The Empty Quarter) through the oasis Liwa, past Abu Dhabi back to Dubai. A look at the mileage showed later about 1500 km journey through the country.
